Apostle Debra D. Carter is the founder of Shekinah Glory Ministries of Baton Rouge. She began ministering on the streets of Scotlandville in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she developed a special love for God’s people. In 1992 Apostle Debra heard the voice of the Lord through her eldest daughter. Her daughter was 13 years old at the time, she came to Apostle and said “Momma, God said nothing is going to change for us until you do what He’s called you to do”. At that time Apostle Debra was leading a life completely dissatisfying to God. Apostle Debra didn’t believe that God would call her to a work because out of 10 siblings she was labeled the worse. Therefore, she thought that God made a mistake and called the wrong sister. Apostle Debra tried to give God her sister Velma because she felt her life was cleaner. Forsaking all to follow Jesus, she suffered many trials and tribulations. Her finances went from $3,000.00 a week to living by faith. God told her to give up her four-bedroom home in New Orleans and give away her car. He sent her back to her hometown, Baton Rouge, LA to the neighborhood where she was reared, Scotlandville. Apostle Debra worked at the altar for some great men and women of God; Prophetess Juanita Bynum, Benny Hinn, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bishop Paul S. Morton any many more. |
